Outside
The garden is very unique being situated on the side of Cheddar Gorge, four stories above the road. The garden is accessed from the back door, located in the kitchen. Up two flights of narrow steep stairs you arrive at a large decking and gravel garden. The large wooden decking area stretches the full width of the property and enjoys views of the river, waterfall, Jacobs Ladder and lower gorge. There are a wooden table and chairs plus four plastic lounging chairs to enjoy people watching and sunsets.
Strictly no ball games. Pets must be kept on leads at all times.
You are very high and right next to a busy main road so for your own and the road users safety please do not climb over or cross any barriers. Rocks and other debris can fall from the cliff face at any time, so users of Christmas Cottage do so at their own risk.
Other things to note
Secure key safe box for front door key.
Parking avilable in Queens Row car park opposite the property – See Just Park (price varies depending on arrival/departure times).
The property is situated on the busy B3134 road ‘The Cliffs’ which is a main thoroughfare into and out of Cheddar Gorge and The Medip Hills. As such it can be busy and noisey at times. Cheddar Gorge is a popular area for gatherings of all vehicle types.
Due to the inherent dangers of the location (proximity to main road, steep steps and cliff face garden), facilities and decoration, Christmas Cottage is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
